My Report On Valerie Kasanita Adams By Asmah


Valerie Kasanita Adams

Introduction
Valerie Adams is a famous New Zealand Shot putter. She has won many medals and broke many world records. Valerie Adams has made New Zealand proud.

Date of birth and family
Valerie Kasanita Adams was born in october 6 1984 in Rotorua, New Zealand. Her mother was Tongan her name was (Lilka Ngauamo) and her father was English (Sydney Adams). She has several brothers. Valerie belongs to a church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day of Saints.

School
Valerie Adams went to a Mangere High School. She was shy but was very good at basketball when she was at school. Her P.E teacher noticed her talent and encouraged
her to keep on playing sports.

Sadness
Valerie`s mother died when she was 15 years old. Her mother inspired and encouraged her. She looks up at the sky often and  when she competes she thinks about her mother. In 2004 Valerie Adams got married to  Bertrand Villi, a discus thrower from New Caledonia. But unfortunately  in 2010, she separated from her husband Bertrand Villi.

Coaches
Valerie`s first coach was Kirsten Hellier she is a well known Javelin thrower. They met in 1998 and they trained together for 11 years. Her second coach is Didier Poppe and they met in 2o10, and her third and current coach is Jean Pierre Egger. Valerie Adams`s height is 6ft 5, she weighs 120 kilograms.

Achievements
Valerie Adams broke the record for shot put  
in bare feet in Junior Championships and won a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. She won a gold medal at the Beijing in 2008 games. In Jamaica she threw a shot put at a distances of 17.73m and won a silver medal  at the Commonwealth Games. At the Melbourne Games she threw the shot put at 19.66m. At the Beijing games she threw the shot put at 19.73m.

Valerie Kasanita Adams is a well known New Zealand athlete who has broken many world records. She has worked hard to make it to the Olympics and made New Zealand very proud of her achievements and her medals.
