My recount on the Eastern Beach by Asmah

Eastern Beach
“ Everyone line up!. Come on Room 9! Come on Room 6!” Came the order of our teacher Mrs Anderson. Everyone grabbed their bags and dashed out of Room 9. It was the 4th March, the day Panmure Bridge School was having their picnic at Eastern Beach. I skipped to the end of the driveway. My excitement kept on growing as I travelled along the rocky footpath. Soon we skittered to a stop and waited in front of the bus. Mrs Anderson raced to get in front of us. As soon as the doors flew open Mrs Anderson counted us one by one as we stepped into  the bus. I could see  students poking their hands in the air and shouting “ Come sit here! I saved a place for you right next to me!”.

When I walked inside I immediately wondered where my friends were sitting.
“ Asmah!” a voice said behind me.
I spun around to see Kapri, Kayra and Chloe sitting on the four seats. Soon the bus started its engine and I quickly sat on the fourth seat.
“Smile!” came Mrs Anderson`s voice. I looked up and smiled a big smile. On the other side of where we were I could see Mrs Anderson take a picture of Addnan and Teagan.

After a while we finally arrived. I felt light hearted as I set my bag down on the grass. Everyone was sitting in their class lines. Ms Kirkpatrick and Mr Johnston gave us a small speech and we were off. The first thing we did was gulp down our morning tea before running off to play. I ran like an arrow, straight and fast, to the volleyball court. During our game I heard Tienira call us for Kayaking. I quickly got changed and I slipped on the soggy life jacket. It felt cold and wet. Ms Kirkpatrick and Mr Grady told us how to paddle and how to keep our kayak afloat. I was terrified because I’d never been in a kayak before. While I was paddling I could hear the children splashing and laughing while they played in the waves. It was so much fun..

After Kayaking we all went out to swim. I didn't feel like swimming because I was too tired. I could hardly move my arms and the water was really cold. My stomach started growling, so Mahdia, Samira and I sat together under a huge tree and ate our lunch. I was so hungry after Kayaking I ate everything in my lunch box.

Soon it was time to go back to school. Everyone packed up their things and picked up all the rubbish and stood in our class lines waiting for the buses. Together Room 9 and Room 6 ran for the first bus because none of us wanted to wait in the line any longer. I put down my school bag on the floor of the bus and flopped into my seat. I was really exhausted and tired.

Later as I strolled towards my house the memories of Eastern Beach were playing like a slideshow in my head. I really enjoyed the day.
