Room 5 Favourite Ice Cream Flavours By Asmah
Cookies & Cream and Vanilla were the most liked Ice Cream flavours chosen. The total was 9 for Cookies & cream and the total was 7 for Vanilla. The least favourite Ice Cream Flavour chosen was Strawberry. The total was 1. The Ice Cream flavours chosen by the same number of people were Chocolate and Jelly Tip. The total was 6.

How to make a Tapa cloth
...How To Make A Tapa Cloth...
Equipment:
Brown Paper
Pencil
Rubber
Ruler
Vivid
Brown Dye
Bleach
Cotton buds
* Find a Tapa Pattern that you want to draw.
* Find a brown piece of paper that is 30cm x 30cm.
* Rule up a 10 by 10 grid (rule boxes 3cm apart on a 30 cm square piece of brown paper).
* Draw the Tapa pattern that you found on the brown piece of paper with pencil. {Step 1}
* Rub out all the lines that you made for the grid.* Go over all the patterns with your vivid.
* Colour some of the patterns in with black vivid.
* Scrunch it up as much as you can to make it soft, approximately 10 times
Dye the entire paper brown.
* Wait for it to dry. {Takes about 3-5 hours to dry}
* Use cotton buds to put bleach on the parts that you want white.
* Hang the Tapa cloth on the wall to display it.

Hooray! We are going to see Dr Ben Carson at the Telstra Clear Manukau Events Centre. We arrived in a bendy bus. When we arrived everyone was surprised about how many schools there were at the Telstra Clear Manukau Events Centre. After that we were sitting on the grass and waited about 45 minutes. The security guard led us into the theatre. The theatre was huge! After that we sat on chairs and listened to a man named Henry. He started his speech with amazing expression. He told his story about when he discovered a book. When he went to the library he thought a book that he wanted to borrow was a DVD. Henry was in love with the librarian. Henry described
her as having big fat lips, big eyes and long black hair. Then he introduced Dr Ben Carson to us. He talked about when he was young and that he grew up in a very poor family in America. When he finished high school he went to medical school. Ben was a Neuro surgeon, (a brain surgeon). He told us, to think big mean and it meant

I- Interactive
G- God
After that we went out and had a free apple and free drink. I felt fantastic after having a drink and apple. I enjoyed my time listening to Dr Ben Carson.

Reflecting on my Tapa Cloth
1. Are you pleased with your Tapa Cloth? why / why not?
Yes because I like the patterns on my tapa.
2. What did you find easy when you were creating your Tapa?
I found doing the die was very easy.
3. What did you find tricky when you were creating your Tapa?
I found doing the bleach tricky.
4. If you made another Tapa, what would you change and why?
I would change the bordes because it would look different.
5. Who / What has helped you in creating your Tapa?
My teacher helped me in creating a Tapa.
6. Did you use any of your own cultural patterns in your own Tapa? Which ones? What do they mean? If you didn’t use your cultural patterns, what did patterns did you use? Where did they come from?
No, I used maori patterns from Miss Paton`s pictures.
